Transitioning Your Vision

Transitioning Your Vision
Sometimes we are either in one of two categories in our thinking in life. Either we are:
⁃Satisfied with where we are…Comfortable.
⁃We go through times that we are feeling a bit “antsy” or feel the need for something to be different than the way things are currently.
Either way, in BOTH instances, it means that we NEED TRANSITION to happen in our lives in order to EVOLVE.

2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass (mirror) the glory of the Lord, and are CHANGED into that same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Those who tend to get comfortable, need to always keep in mind that they are “Made For More”.

Those who are feeling the NEED for transition, need to make sure HOW they do it, and be sure that the motivation behind changes that are made will propel them FORWARD, and not transition them BACKWARD.

Making a change or a transition about things in life is often unsettling. The uncertainty of what outcomes may bring and HOW they will happen weighs on our mind, causing either procrastination, or “knee jerk” impulsiveness that doesn’t always get us to where we need to be.

However, most of the time change is inevitable. It’s HOW we go through that transition that makes the difference.

The vision of what we look for in our future is not necessarily the sight that we see directly in front of us. It’s always usually thought of to be “someday”.

A lot of people look towards the future; whether it be later today, tomorrow, next week, or even next year with the: “What if such and such happens,” and tend to focus on it with apprehension or negativity.

We can make our OWN plans all day long…
Proverbs 16:9 NLT “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

But when GOD impresses HIS plans on our life…this is what He says:
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭‬‬‬‬
A lot of people built their life, focused around past experiences and relationships, and try to figure out how to make things the way they used to be instead of embracing where they’re at right now and looking towards the future.
They usually don’t think of building on what they DO have to work with,  instead of what they DO NOT have to work with.

When we are transitioning from one thing to another, primarily in our spiritual walk with God, we have to come to the realization that the way things used to be, and the way things have ‘always been’ need to change in our lives.

We have to be seeking and hungry for a GOD GIVEN transition to take place in our lives.
Sometimes, God’s plans don’t seem to even “logically make sense” to our natural, carnal mind.

Luke 5:1-11 NLT
•v. 1 Crowds PRESSED Him to hear the Word of God (Are we hungry like that?)
•V. 4 After the people heard the preaching, Jesus told them to “go out where it’s DEEPER” to catch fish.
•V. 5 “We’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught nothing”. But because Jesus told them directions and what to do, they OBEYED Him.
•V. 6 After they listened to Jesus and did something that didn’t make sense (let down the nets AGAIN after they had already done that all night), they caught so many fish they couldn’t haul them into the boat!
•V. 8 Peter immediately had humility, and thankfulness acknowledging what kind of person he had been (not a man of faith)
•V. 10 Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid, from now on you’ll be catching people!” (Out of their comfort zone, they were FISHerman used to catching fish, not people)
•V. 11 Their response: They immediately left everything and followed Jesus. This was a transition that required change on their part, their whole livelihood, their comfort zone, taking on a spiritual role when they were only used to things the way they had always been used to.
THEY FOUND OUT THEY WERE MADE FOR MORE.

A lot of times when Jesus calls us to go a little DEEPER in our hunger and walk with Him so He can transition us to a deeper place, we already THINK we’re deeper than we really are.

Most of us need to transition the way that we think, and get out of the mindset that we are just “good enough” to stay in the place spiritually that we are now.
We need to be willing to move beyond what we see right here and right now, and transition into a vision of what our future holds with God.

Most Christians believe that they get saved, the next step is that we go to Heaven…The problem is, what do we do with the time BETWEEN when we get saved and the time that we go to HEAVEN?

Matthew 25:14-30 NKJV
In the parable of the talents, some talents were given to each one. The master entrusted them to have His best interest in mind as they were to be faithful.
The parable tells us that the ones that did something with what they were given were rewarded. But to the one that did nothing…what he had was taken away.

We are told to occupy until Jesus comes back.

This refers to the principle of STEWARDSHIP. How are we being good stewards of our Time, our Talent, and our TREASURE?

Are we doing something with what God gave us for the Kingdom of God since we’ve been saved, or are we just waiting for His return, and if so, what will we have to offer Him?

If we find ourselves just being settled and satisfied, God wants to bring a spiritual drive within our hearts for what matters to Him!
We can all get in times of spiritual dryness and apathy, but we need to cry out to God to change our hearts.

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭26‬ NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

We can’t look at our walk with God as an event that we attend….we need to realize it’s a process for development. Our Christian faith is developed Daily…..not in a Day!

Our daily preparation is what comes to the surface when the time comes!
(Being prepared BEFORE a need arises besides using our own flesh intellect instead of being filled with the Spirit of God).

Maybe we have felt like we’ve tried to make changes and it didn’t work and feel like we have failed.
God’s desire is that we seek His plan and stick to it by using more than will power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Ask the question, Where do you see yourself in 5 years pertaining to the things of God?…how about 5 months?

For me, even though I know God has used EVERYTHING I have ever gone through, every area I sowed seed for, every time He saw both my downfalls and my faithfulness to do SOMETHING through my life… I didn’t know in advance HOW and WHEN it was going to unfold in a picture laid out in front of me IN ADVANCE.
That includes the timing of WHEN I stepped into Pastoring here. I had walked in the path of ministry for quite some time, but didn’t know in advance WHEN that was going to take place.
What I’m saying is you don’t know what tomorrow holds for YOUR life! You don’t know when God is going to call you to the greatness He placed inside you!
It’s important that we aim at that plan during the preparation time and He wants us to be mindful of that!

Don’t think that the plan of God is so far off! TODAY is the day of salvation. And that’s not referring only to us accepting Jesus, but that means that TODAY is the day for deliverance in our mind, soul, and body and being preserved to do something for HIM!

We don’t need to wait until a catastrophic event occurs in our lives to seek God’s plan of transition for us.
We have to simply seek and obey and KNOW that we are MADE FOR MORE!

Benjamin Franklin quote
"If you fail to plan…then you are planning to fail!"
Also said, "I didn’t fail the test….I just found 100 ways to do it wrong!"
AGAIN, God will use everything you’ve already been through to be stepping stones in your transition to God’s HIGHER and DEEPER ways!

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

*In most cases, this doesn’t mean a PHYSICAL MOVE you need to make! But more importantly, and before ANY transition you feel you are in, you must include THE HIGHER WAYS OF GOD in your life!

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you.”

Philippians 1:6 NLT
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
